Before having a conversation with anyone, it can be useful to know their name, unless it is a mundane chat with someone you’ll soon forget. To delve into a deeper conversation, someone’s name might not be enough; knowing more about that person helps. It is the same with an archangel. To deepen your connection with an archangel, you must contemplate not only its name, but it’s purpose, or function. We use the name of an archangel to focus our feelings, our intention, into a state of being. The study and meditation of a name will attune you to its true nature.

Empowering an archangel’s name:
- Sit comfortably in a relatively silent place, not lying down
- Select the archangel’s name and refresh your mind with its concept
- Meditate on it 20 minutes per day, every day, for 10 days
- Proceed to another archangel

The Art of Rituals

The practice of occult rituals dates back thousands of years, steeped in mystery, symbolism, and arcane knowledge. These rituals have been passed down through generations and continue to evolve, as practitioners adapt to changing times and new understandings. Rather than repeating age-old recipes, we wish to instruction in the art of building your own ritual, as we already started in the early chapters of this book.

In this chapter, we will explore the art of occult rituals, their purposes, common elements, and guidelines for conducting a successful ritual. Occult rituals serve various purposes, including spiritual growth, self-discovery, manifestation of desires, and connection with supernatural entities or energies. They can also be used for healing, protection, or divination.

Common Goals of Occult Rituals

We will first give you guidelines applicable to any kind of occult ritual, and then give precisions on how to apply it to archangels. While the specifics of each type of ritual may differ, most share some common elements:

Universal Ritual Guidelines

Education
Study and meditate on every entity, symbol and concept you plan to invoke during your ritual. It doesn’t have to be long, but you must have more practice than a 5 minute read.
Planification
With your goal or application in mind, think about all the possible correspondences that you could easily bring together.
Outer Preparation
Cleanse and consecrate your ritual space, gather necessary tools and materials, and prepare yourself mentally, emotionally, and physically.
Inner Preparation
Now that you have gathered your material and tools, it is time to start the ritual, at the appointed time if you had planed this correspondence for your ritual.
Invocation
Calling upon specific deities, spirits, or energies to assist or oversee the ritual. In our case, we invoke the selected archangel, or archangels.
Ritual Performance
Performing symbolic actions and using specific tools to channel energies and manifest the desired outcome.
Offerings
Giving thanks and making offerings to the invoked beings or energies.
Closing
In our case, we simply let the archangel go and focus on goals. In other rituals, it could be banishing any unwanted energies, releasing the invoked beings, and closing the ritual space.

Example Rituals

Let’s provide you with a few example rituals, from simple to complex. We will start with the quickest and most practical daily ritual, and then offer a much more elaborate ritual example.

You can make a ritual to an archangel on a daily basis, just looping through the 10, one each day, and start over again. These rituals could be short and simple to setup, counting on a minimal correspondence, like the number of candles of a certain color.

Recipes

Writing this book, we hoped to avoid writing a simple recipe book for all to follow blindly, focusing more on training you into the art of rituals, and showing you how to build a relationship with each archangel. However, I figure there is a lot to learn before one could create their rituals efficiently. We will hence provide a series of simple recipes that you can follow until you become more competent with each aspect of the ritual art. Feel free to modify these suggestions while staying in the same application field for the given archangel.

In these quick recipes, we won’t dive into the tools, crystals and incenses. We’ll provide the simplest rituals for you to follow. You’ll add to it as you learn, until you can compose your own rituals. We recommend you use a basic incense that you like.

Considering that we don’t know exactly what you want to do with these pre-made rituals, the request prayer we provide cannot be precise. We invite you to modify them to fit your needs, or simply use them as a second invocation, which will provide you the general benefits of each archangel.
